Can you explain my new colleagues's behaviour?

I should just leave it. There is a possibility that it was you who misunderstood the arrangements, if everything is otherwise fine, why bother rocking the boat. If these are colleagues who you will be spending a lot of time with you will have plenty opportunity to decide whether or not they would plan to do something like that deliberately - I think it is unlikely from your description of them.
