Does he like or hate me?

There's this guy, that i've noticed that every time i turn to look in his direction, he's been staring at me, so his reaction was just to casually look at something else.. Whenever I talk to him, as of questions about an assignment in class or something, he would always answer me nicely and in an understanding way.. But that look, had gotten me wondering, whether if he's staring at me to judge me (since he's seen me fail and embarrass myself in front of the class before -_-;) or is it fondness.. And now he's my dance partner for this school play, he still stares at me from a distance.
